Project description: The old city of Mosul was severely damaged by the war of liberation from ISIS. UNESCO is carrying out a project for its reconstruction. A WebGIS with integrated document management is the tool which, besides documenting the progress of the works, allows the cataloguing of all documents produced — a dynamic tool enabling the various actors involved to share information.
The system is used in every phase, from the mine clearance of the houses to the management of the reconstruction. The available data include the 2006/2007 census and the UNITAR data picturing the situation after the conflict.
