ROMA150 – A participatory portal for the knowledge of the Capital (1870-2020)

Project description: ROMA150 is a web portal created to promote and disseminate knowledge of modern and contemporary Rome, offering users free access to cartographic, photographic, audiovisual and textual material about Rome in the period 1870–2020. The platform brings together an important collection of aerial photos and digitised historical cartography, as well as perspective photos, iconographic documents, historical photogrammetric models, and accounts of events, places, people and historical artefacts from different sources.

The material is organised as a database in which every record is associated with a physical location on the map. Beyond allowing the consultation and sharing of historical material, the platform acts as a virtual Agorà — a place of creation and participation.
